FWP Bolex H16 Rental Agreement & Safety Terms

Please read and check ✅ each box to confirm your understanding and agreement:

1. Financial Responsibility & Insurance

• No Insurance: I understand that FWP does NOT provide insurance. I assume full financial responsibility for any loss or damage.
• Original Condition: I will return the camera in its original functional and aesthetic state.
• Completeness: I will return the Take-up Spool, Filter Holder, and all Lens Caps together with the camera.
• Pre-Rental Inspection: I have verified the camera's basic functions are working at pickup.

2. Operational Safety (The "No-Force" Rule)

• No Force: I will NEVER use force for loading, winding, or changing lenses.
• Stop & Report: If any part feels stuck, I will stop immediately and contact FWP.
• No Unauthorized Repairs: I will not attempt to open or repair the camera mechanism myself.

3. Usage & Liability

• Environmental Care: I will protect the camera from moisture, sand, and extreme heat.
• Film Disclaimer: I understand that FWP is not liable for film costs or processing fees due to equipment failure or light leaks.
• Troubleshooting: I will inform FWP immediately of any issues during the shoot.

4. Do's-and-don'ts

• 64 fps: Never ever run a spring-driven Bolex at 64 fps without film loaded. The lack of resistance places excessive strain on the gear teeth when the mechanism comes to its (abrupt) stop when the spring runs out.
• Glass block / prism: Do not touch the glass block / prism surface; the coating of the glass block / prism is very sensitive for the acid of our hands / fingers and burns a permanent mark.
