Safety rules
Never put your fingers close to the shutter when the projector is on.
Unplug the projector before you touch the lamp holder.
Avoid touching the side of the capacitor, which can retain electricity for a long time.
Step-by-step basic maintenance: Eiki SL
We checked an Eiki SL in the workshop.
1. Take down the cover.
2. Make sure the inner lamp cover is in a good position.
3. Check the rollers and make sure they are clean and smooth.
4. Check the lamp and lamp holder. In case of oxidation, clean them with sandpaper. If there is still no light, check the fuses.
5. Check the focus knob and make sure it is smooth.
6. Clean the aperture plate and film gate plate (no. 26 and no. 27 in the picture "A. Film Gate Assembly." For more info, see Eiki NT service manual p.43).
7. Check the sound exciter lamp. If the sound lamp is on but there’s no sound, it means the fuse might be broken.
8. Run the test film. If the projector doesn’t take up the film well, clean the claw mechanism and realign it.
9. Take off the front-bottom cover for cleaning the film path.
